Name of company/service: Samsung
I bought a Samsung LCD TV in April 2008. This was not working for more than 2 months and accordingly, placed a complaint on 8/12/2012, for rectification (Call No 4143140140). The Samsung service centre, Samrat services at Kalyan Nagar, Bangalore, on checking, said that a part(panel) has to be replaced.
However, after a week I come to understand that the part is not available anywhere. They said that I need to provide all the details of the TV and its purchase details, so that they could forward the same to Samsung for getting a compensation.
I get a call day before yesterday, stating that a compensation cheque has been sanctioned by Samsung for Rs 9690 and they would come home to handover the same and take the TV. What I dont understand is that, for a LCD TV costing Rs 28000, I have got a compensation which is around 30%. I dont want this compensation. Instead I need the TV to be rectified(Which Iam willing to pay) or, give me a compensation of 70% of the cost of TV(ie Rs 19600).
Enclosed herewith are the details of the TV:
Samsung, Model : LA26R71BA,
Model Code: LA26R71BAL/XTL,
Type No: BD 26SO,
S/N: 08343PBQ400224N
Purchased on 12th April 2008 from Bajaj Electronics, Hyderabad.
