I shifted form Lucknow to Mumbai in Dec, 2015. To get my number ported, I visited vodafone mini store named as “Ranavat Mobile, Chhotu Terrace, Colaba Causeway Road, Azad Nagar, Colaba, Mumbai -400005”.
1. I had no idea about the charges and all. The owner there charged me 100 Rs for porting. When I reached home, my father-in-law told me it’s just 10-20 Rs. I wanted to make it clear, so visited the mini store again. He accepted that he charged much but also said that this process takes lot of work, so the charge was genuine. I visited a proper Vodafone store in Koparkhairane. There they told me the charge couldn’t be more than 20 Rs.
2. The sim-pin for the sim they provided me was not the default one. I tried to change it, but failed. I visited the mini store for this as well. He said there’s nothing like sim-pin. I said I have always used it to protect my sim, nut he didn’t approve of it. Later, someone there said that yes, sim come with a sim-pin. So he asked me to visit some other day in noon time. I was at work, so called up him. He was dilly dallying by saying that system was not up, vodafone guy had left, blah blah. I got irritated and i blocked my sim by entering wrong passwords 10 times. This gave me the sim-pin reset option and I reset it to desired.
3. I received a message on the reference number that I should call 117 for confirmation. I called 117 and got my number activated. But then I started getting flash messages for activating my number by calling on 117. I called again, but the automatic voice there says that number is already activated and the call gets cut. And I still continue to get those messages. I reported this problem there at the mini store, so the guy there said that “madam aap hi ko boht problems aa rhe hain. aajtak kabhi kisine complain nai kiya” and he was of no help. I visited the proper vodafone store regarding this problem. They activated flash dnd, but these messages are still coming every 5-10 mins.
So, to summarize this, Ranavat Mobile has adopted this fraudulent technique of duping people. Well, I’m not sure about others, but I’m sick and tired of juggling and rushing from store to store.
I want to file a complaint against Ranavat Mobiles regarding this. And in this case, if I get my sum of 100 Rs back, I’ll be happiest because these people are only certified, they don’t have proper knowledge and I believe thus they cannot solve my problem.
