Sudden maintenance fee without informing

My card is active from 2012 and no maintenance charge was applied ever,but suddenly last month statement came and 285 charges in this statement as maintenance fee,without any email/letter to inform me.I spoke to SBI card call center and they informed me it was annual maintenance fee and when I asked about why it was not charged before they told me to write a mail to [email protected],again same story repeated there in mail and forwarded to nodal office.He also not gave me the answer.Therefore I’m helpless to find the answer and searched many places and finally found this forum.Please help me.
