Few days back PAYTM had held a sale giving products on 100% cashback. I had ordered a couple of products under the sale. However, I feel the sale was schemed attempt of fraud for promoting the website. First, majority of the products are defective even without the sale, I had order quite few products looking at it cheap prices till I learnt my lesson the hard way.
Modus operandi of the sale:
1. It offered products for free
2. The products were either not available or
3. The products offered were substandard.
4. The same giffen goods are delivered to the buyers.
5. Then once the buyer register the deficiency in the product
6. They take the goods back and revert saying Cash being added to the account as refund
7. However the product is already under cashback scheme, no further addition is and to the money lying the in PAYTM wallet.
8. So there is no product outflow plus free promotion for the website
I understand they are already offering the products for free but my issue is if they really want to give something free then give and don’t play games with sizes, shapes, type etc.
They show a superior product during the sale and deliver a scrap compared to the product shown. This has happened twice with that they delivered something else and took it back and then they call it promotions.
I have no right to ask for what was already free but I lost my calm on learning that this appeared to be well designed scheme as when the misdeed happened twice with me.
Further apart from sale on 100% cashback matter I would also like to add that PAYTM is more like Chinese product seller, many products are defective or substandard even without sale and deliver time sometimes more than 15 days.
