ONLINE MARKETING FRAUD BY READWHERE.COM

Dear All,

This website http://www.readwhere.com (#readwhere) sells magazines online but does not clearly say that they are NOT SELLING HARD COPIES nor is it said that it is DIGITAL COPIES . The pricing also being same one may and will be confused.
Last 21st May 2015 , and the marked price was same as the MRP on the hardcopy edition. The website appeared in a google search for MAGAZINE PURCHASE ONLINE.

The image of what they say on the website is in the URL :

Unlike any e-commerce site which clearly says e-books, hardcopies, paperback/ hardbound etc there was no clear indication at all.

Here is a snap of how e-book are classified in a popular e-commerce site (http://tinypic.com/r/35co0oo/8). If you see this same site sells hard copy magazine too.

To make things more confusing it charges the customers exactly as the hard copies but everyone knows that hard copies and digital magazines can not be priced same.

Once i added the magazines to cart, I was asked to register with all my details after which I made a bank payment of Rs.153. The amount was deducted but then there was no update at all.

I was under the impression that hard copies will be mailed to me. When that did not happen, I visited the site and also asked their Facebook page to which the said i was looking at the wrong place and I should see on SHELF section…

The point is, I do not need a digital copy . WHY WAS I NOT TOLD THAT BEFORE BUYING. The company can not say i should have been careful. Let me make it clear that rule of caveat emptor does not apply in a case where goods are bought by description from a seller. Also giving a small conditions in an invisible location where the consumer may not see or it may go unnoticed is #marketingfraud .

Kindly file my complain againt this company for #cheating and #fraud.

Regards,
Hoimee
