Forceful Continuation of Post Paid Service & Generation of False Rental Bills

We contacted Airtel Customer Care Service since November 2014 to discontinue the post paid connection 9163149913. The service executives made no record of the interactions and forcibly told us to go to Kolkata, 150 km away from my place of residence, to disconnect the post paid connection.

From November 2014 till February 2015 I made 4 calls and Airtel Customer Service made no record of the interactions. Since February I destroyed the sim understanding they will not take any action and there was no further usage. The last call I made in February to Airtel Customer Service on February 27, 2014, stating I want to clear the outstanding provided they discontinue the connection. The customer care people refused to do so. They even did not provide me the information that request for discontinuation of service can be given by sending an email. I was informed of this service on June 2, 2015 when an Airtel contact person called me to resolve the issue.

Since then till May end 2015 there were several collection calls whom I told the same thing that to adjust the outstanding bill till February 2015 which I would pay. They refused.

In May end 2015 I wrote a mail to Airtel Customer Care stating the issue but they refused to help rather enforced some false rental charges from March to May 2015.

I appeal to Consumer forum to help consumers like us who are being victimized by telecom companies using the post paid services.

Though I am willing to pay the rightful usage & rental charges, Airtel is not allowing me to make the payment by enforcing false rental charges on me. Consider this complaint as a critical issue and penalize customer service centers of telecom companies for disservice, provision of wrong information and harassment of customers.
