I had booked tickets from Pune To Kalyan on 14th Oct 2014. The train was cancelled.
Response from IRCTC
Kindly note that the TDR filing time limit is revised w.e.f. 1/7/2013 upto 2 hours of the actual departure of the train in case of confirmed etickets & within 3 hours of the actual departure of the train in case of RAC or partial WL e-tickets. As the time for filing the TDR for refund has exceeded, we are unable to forward your case to Railways.
My Complaint
This is an unsatisfactory response as the limit you have mentioned is not in favour of the customer. It is your (Indian Railway) responsibility to return customer’s money if they do not provide service. Why should we ask for our own money?
2nd thing – When I went on railway station, that is when I got to know that the train is cancelled. Railways should atleast intimate the passengers about cancellation. I checked with a railway employee there who said I will get automatic refund in my account in case of train cancellation. I understand you have your rules, but they are not in favour of customers.
Overall, many customers like me who believe in Railways are being purely looted. Legal Corruption.
