User Lien amount deduction

Hi,

I have 2 Kotak accounts. One is Savings account and the other one is linked with the trading account. Since I wasn’t trading from sometime now, the other account was not having sufficient funds. Looks like due to this, the KOTAK bank deducted User Lien amount of Rs. 1100. I am shocked and surprised that how can they deduct the amount even without prior intimation. If there was some notification from Kotak bank letting the customer know that due to less usage or insufficient funds, there will be a certain charge deducted then I would have kept the account active and avoided this incident. Deducting this much amount without any prior notification nor informing about it leads to loss of trust and faith in a financial institution like this. Kotak is a reputed bank and as a customer I didn’t expected such unethical action from them. With immediate effect, I am going to stop/close the account and certainly not recommend it to my n/w. I hope for a better action from Kotak bank.

    Dear Sir (Kotak Support group),

    I am facing the same problem with my account. There is no prior / post intimation for deducting amount. Last month along with annual charges Lien deduction was Rs. 842/-. The same repeated again this month.
    There was no intimation / alert / warning call on this. After deductions also there was no intimation or alert.
    Today I called customer care and they were answering its because Kotak salary account has to be maintained Rs.50,000/- average balance it seems.
    I would have closed account if there was any intimation regarding this. Thanks for your care and services.

There was no intimation / alert / warning call on this. After deductions also there was no intimation or alert. Is there is any way to overcome this.

    i find lien balance by deducting balance from my Account it is the bank which helds lien amount without any intimation to customers it shows that Kotak mahindra bank running it’s biz from lien bal amount from customer like us, Bestowed untrusty and customer cheating bank.

    Hi,

    I am also facing same problem, even though my inked kotak securities account having assets of around 3 Lacs rupees, still Bank need to charge Lien charges then better I close both the accounts.

    I would like to know more about the Lien charges which you guys impose on savings account. I have a salary account with Kotak Bank but for past few months our salaries are not credited by our employer. Now in my bank account the balance is showing in negatives saying LIEN.

    This is so frustrating with your service. Please take this issue into consideration.
    I have opened this salary account on Nov 15, and i have taken a CC on this, for some financial issues i was unable to pay my CC dues, On 20/7/2016 i have converted total CC outstanding i.e 28,110/- into 9 months EMI through collection department (Proof has been attached) where i have already paid all EMI’s on time. Because of this reason there was lien of around 30,000/ till Apr 17, After many conversation with collection department liabilities are made as zero and lien for CC has been removed.

    When CC issue is sorted out, again i am frustrated with the new lien which is put on 10/3/17 of 6890/-, when i contacted customer care they said it is for non maintenance, i have explained my concern with the team that if i would have credited salary to this acc, amount would have auto debited for CC which i have checked by crediting some amount, My EMI conversion of CC dues was not updated in kotak system.

    It was that situation where i couldnt able to maintain balance as it was deducting both the ends ( EMI & Auto debit of credited amount) so till now i was facing the issue with this account, even i was unable to close the account since there was lien for CC on this account.

    My concern is i have already paid almost 30k with difficulties, again 6,800/- i cant pay and which very sad news and really frustrating hope u have understood my situation, Please wave off my lien fully to continue with this kotak. From next month i can able to credit my salary to this.

    i hav bank account in kotak mahindra bank and credit card to last month i was suposed to pay my credit card bill on 23 my bill was of 11000 i paid bill of 10000 and i waited for the confirmation of this amount but after waiting for almost 30 minutes i dint receive any confirmation. i called up customer care and asked them about the same they said sir we have note received any amount agains your credit card billi ran to hdfc bank and i asked them i had paid the bill of my kotak credit card why the amount is not transferred they gave me transaction number and i shared it with kotak bank they said sir we have not received any payment after 5,6 days amount automatically reflected in my credit card and they charged me late payment fees where i had paid my bill 4 days prior to my due date.

    2. on this 26 i transferred 16000 rs in my kotak bank as my credit card bill was of 16000 rs in which kotak bank put my 6000 rs in lein amount and only 10000 was reflecting in my account so i paid rs 10000 first and after that i again transfered 6000 in my account and i paid my credit card bill now 6000 is showing in lein amount what kind of scam this bank is running

    No balance maintained then today I transfer 240 rupees by Imps
    But 169 rupees lien deduction
    Why detection for zero balance account
    Now am maintain average 1000 rupees
    Pls solution for me

    I have a salary account since two year, but right now i cann’t maintain balance on kotak account for this they charge a near 750 /- amount per month they charged without an information also they charge a user lien amount which is 840 RS/-. when i had discussion their customer support then they suggested me, maintain 2ok per month but how this can be possible as currently my salary is 17k. This is very painful.

    Other bank providing good customer support along with best services to the customers.

    For now i don’t want keep my account Kotak bank. If they provide a good service then we will think about it.

    i am having a saving bank a/c in kotak 811 I have not deposited any amount in my a/c yet since it was opened but today I have transferred some amount to my kotak saving account but when I cheacked my a/c status in kotak bank it show me less amount from wich I deposited and the deducted amount is showing in a lien so I request you to please refund the amount to my a/c.

  17. Kotak never gives any proper response.
    They deduct maximum from people who don’t care much regardding the deductions. I was a bit late in paying my credit card bill and when my salary got credited, they kept all the amount on hold. Now how will I pay my bill? If not paid on time , again fine should be paid. They will create reasons to deduct money.
    Please don’t continue with Kotak. The day you suffer becz of them you will realise.
    Is Kotak going to provide me any solution or will not release my amount?

    I am facing that with out any intimation/notification bank transfer my amount in lien account Rs 737.50.when I am complain about this matter to customer care & Branch both are harass me one table to another. Kotak bank service is very bad . I have getting bad experience about this bank.
    If any suggestion to release my amount from lien account.

  20. My kotak zero balance account in kotak app shows zero balance but in account statement it shows 18rs which is actually correct.while making payment of 10 rs I have received msg from bank that you don’t have sufficient funds.kindly pls help.
    when i log in net banking site then i came to know that In my kotak account it is showing 35 rs lien what does it mean ?..With out any prior confirmation they are debiting my account and it is not reflected in statement also .

    I am also facing same issue with Kotak bank, they deducted 25k amount and mention they have hold the amount in lien. fed up of Kotak bank. the make the savings bank account to Zero. Dont know how to pay bills. Fed up.

    I am Kotak bank customer. I have personal loan in this bank. Last month i was bit late to pay EMI. Bank hold 5245 /- for one month. This month i transferred 16000 to this account. They debit total 21245 /- instead of 14,800 /-. Again they send mail like your due amount is 1150/-. I lost total extra 7245/-. if any charges apply for late payment how much they are debiting. Today, I visited to kotak bank near gachibowli circle but they said like go to main branch event they don`t have proper information.     I am facing the same problem with my account. There is no prior / post intimation for deducting amount the lien amount. And my account is zero balance maintenance account. Why lien amount is charged on this ? All credit card dues were also remitted on time. Total 1735 rupees were charged and 1000 deducted with out intimation. Still 735 is pending for deduction.

    Hi,
    Kotak Bank is really fraud. Initially they closed my salary account without any notice due to which I suffer a lot as my salary was not credited on time. Now again when I opened 811 account they are debiting my balance by 1088 what is it for? I will now take it serious and will file a case on consumer forum for closing my account with intimation. I have all the proofs.

    I roo has the same issue, have raised concern with the bank through email but have not received any proper response from them. They just swns me an can statement stating that due to lavk of balance. However the thing is my account is salary account.
    They simply put the money on hold without any information or sms.
    Have asked for complete statement regarding the charges but there are no response plus i checked on my bank statement but could not find any where about these charges.
    I would like to request you to check on this and revert back.

    I have the same issue they have put 24000 lien on my account I transferred 8640-/- rupees from my another account to my kotak account to make payment of kotak credit card but the transferred amount was on hold. Immediately I called customer care and asked about it he told me your account is on lien for 24000 wtf I asked him for details he said me it’s for non maintenance charges. During this lock down how can we maintain 5000 every month and it’s un fair to charge this much. And he suggested me to make credit card payment again. Soo now I have to forget the amount which I transferred earlier.

    Kotak bank has put double the amount 2 lakh of the credit card total bill of 1 lakh in lien amount in bank, when i asked them to fix it they are making excuses saying that even if i transfer more money only they will deduct only due amount and release the rest, but there is no guarantee they will release the rest as they are not able to fix the lien issue now. They are openly cheating customers.

Am using Kotak Bank Account and Credit Card i missed the payment of kotak for 3months, when Ppl called me i said i ll pay sir i have some medical issue so unable to pay, now due to family finance condition ( Family condition is very very bad ) i applied loan in other bank and deposited Cheque to kotak bank now they lenead my 249000Rs, when am calling to customer care they are saying Credit Card also blocked, they are not taking the money and even unblocking my Card, this is leading me in to very bad place condition of my daily n personal life. As a common man its a high amount. i tried all ways to reach bank ppl, still now is did not get any resulation daily am suffering lot by this mentely. in this pandemic this makes very week. any one can help me plz.
