Complaint is against PARTRIDGE PUBLISHING India:

After a couple of phone calls with the sales assistance Denny Manning, I bought your company’s Amethyst Package (project ID 619460). It has been almost 4 months now and I am still yearning to see my work published. I would be grateful if someone in your department can take up my grievances:

1. I had been corresponding with Ann Minoza to reduce the price of the 136 pages which Partridge has decided to price at 350. Eventually, because Ann did not budge from the price, inspite of my trying to tell her that no one in India is going to buy a book at this price, that too from a first time author, I had to go along with Rs. 350.

2. We decided the price of the eBook to be Rs.100. Yet, when the book was published on Flipkart, I see that the price was Rs. 200. I pointed this out to Ann and she commented that she can’t open the website so she is not sure what price the book is listed at !!!?? If it is her team that has uploaded the book at this price, why can’t she directly check with her team??

3. The price of the book outside of India has been set at $8.99. This is outrageous. Doesn’t Partridge understand the concept of price sensitivity? At this price why would anyone go along with a first time writer?

4. The book uploaded at Flipkart doesn’t have a cover image. I pointed this out to Ann and she commented, brace yourself for this….”any changes to online listing takes about 3-4 weeks”…..!!!!???? I have a seller profile at Flipkart…trust me, the online change takes a few minutes. Why this deception???

5. Just very unsatisfied overall with the quality of service in Partridge. I have to wait for days to get an intelligent answer. And then Ann or Kate decide to give it a miss. I am beyond the point of frustration now and I am seriously contemplating taking legal action against your company for all the harassment and misguidance unless you have a good answer for justifying Partridge’s treatment of its customer.

    Just signed an amethyst deal with Partridge.!

    I sincerely hope your book was publishes and your grievances addressed. Email me if there is something I need to watch out for.

    Indain Authors – Beware, never ever choose Partridge India. They are expert in false promise..They set MRP of books but lists at very high rate than that MRP..Further there is no guarantee that in Amazon India it would be distributed by local distributor..In Amazon India they list book that is imported from USA thus causing the price 3-4 time higher than the MRP..!!They have no support center in India, Support center in USA..!! – Worst class service

    Thanks for the info. I was about to sign up with them. I read few other reviews as well and the feeling is no different about Partridge.

    I am also getting calls for publishing book from partridge India whether shall I go for it or not they are offering Topaz package for 50,000 Rs

    It is a big scam by a reputed Publishing House like Penguin. Botn Ms.Margaret and Ms. Julie were in contact with me since June this year to author a book on Gender Budgeting. They sounded genuine and interested and informed that 15 complementary author copied would bw provided. Upfront, they informed that I have to choose from various schemes and the payment would range from Rs.30,000 – Rs.3,00,000. Why should a publisher charge for the work of the author. It was here that I smelt a rat. I.am no longer interested in them. Beware of them. There are other Indian publishers to do the work.

    To all those who have tasted the services and terms of Partridge India, and to the ones who are willing to. Here is my interpretation (Author of Tied Hearts):-

    1. Packages are of no use irrespective of their inclusions and prices. “THEY LACK MARKETING SKILLS!”

    2. Once the payment is done, you cannot make them move even a single step, as technically, the authors give them all rights to have monopoly via the contract. “The author can keep on requesting, pleading and begging, but they will not buzz AT ALL!” Even if the author pays the money, he cannot and will not have any say.

    3. Online sales is absolutely untraceable. Besides, its not transparent. PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

    4. All those who think the books are printed out of India (for which the books are quoted at a higher price) are mistaken as they are printed very much in India thanks to their channel Partner, Penguin Publishers. So basically, they FOOL the authors.

    5. Your content will be at their mercy for approval, as per their writing guidelines. So there’s a huge possibility of changing your manuscript altogether. That is similar to taking your child through “PLASTIC SURGERY” for no reason (alterations which you would not like to do at any cost).

    As per my experience, I will never-ever promote PARTRIDGE India and PENGUIN. Wherever possible, I will rather advise the authors not to use their services AT ALL.

    Hopefully, this helps someone before he falls prey to this publishing house.
