I was on the Kesineni bus from Hyderabad to Nagpur on the 20th of Feb booked through redbus.
The bus was stopped and seized by the RTO at Adilabad for not having the necessary permissions to ply. This was at 3am!
The RTO told us that the bus company had already been stopped 4 days earlier for the same bus but allowed to go keeping the passengers convenience in mind. But since the bus company was taking advantage of the good faith of the RTO they had to seize it.
We were stranded for 2.5 hours in the middle of the night on the road. We did not have access to food or clean water. There were women and children sitting on the footpath waiting for dawn.
The bus driver told us that we would get a full refund. It cost me over 900 Rs. reach home in a taxi and then auto. The cost of the ticket was 1200 Rs. When I asked for the refund I was told that I would get only 500 Rs. since the bus went half way!!
When I went to get that money the managers at the desk and on the phone were rude and uncaring and they basically kept coming up with excuses (there is no electricity come back after 1 hour, more documentation required, manager not there). I have still not received even this minimum refund and I might end up spending more on fuel and effort than what I can expect to get from them. Redbus has washed their hands off this.
