I bought Micromax Canvas HD A116 mobile phone ( IMEI No. 911304256827050 ) on 2nd October, 2013 from Cellular Shoppe, Baguiati, Kolkata for Rs 14000. I had used the mobile for only 11 days and then the phone started to hang. I thought it might be a temporary problem. However the very next day, my phone got switched off and was not turning on. I went to an authorized service center of Micromax at Lenin Sarani on 17/10/2013. The concerned person over there without checking my phone as to what the problem was, just told me that it needs to be checked and it may take some time. I asked him to find out what the problem was and give me an idea as to how long it will take for the mobile to repair.
After me insisting on it, he bothered to check. He confirmed me that the mobile is dead and it may take between 10 to
30 days. He was not even sure whether it will be done in 30 days and said that it may take more time as well.
I told him that it has hardly been 14 days since I had purchased the phone and it is definitely not acceptable for me to wait until one month to get my phone repaired. However, he continued saying that this is their company’s policy and he cannot do anything about it.
I told him that I had invested all my savings in this phone and had nothing left to purchase a new phone and that too for approx 1 to 2 month. I asked them if they could provide me with a replacement phone until my phone is repaired. However, they said that their policy has changed and they can no longer do so.
With no options left, I had to leave my mobile to be repaired. They gave me an acknowledgment receipt with the Jobsheet No. as R1310FWB5976940 and Request No. as E030410-1013-5930202.
Concluding, my experience with Micromax as a company has been a disaster starting with a damaged phone to a poor customer service to No Resolution about my problem.
