Name of company/service: YOU SCOD 18
I have 2 set top boxes at home from YOSCOD 18. 1 of them is an old purchase when having a set top box was not mandatory while the second purchased comparatively recently when having set top box became mandatory.
I have made several complaints to local cable operator/YOU SCOD followed by formal email complaint to YOU SCOD ON July 17,2013 about new set top not working at all.
Now the cable guy wants that I do the re-wiring at my cost so as to make use of new set top box.
The old one still works well with current wiring while new one doesn’t.
Reasoning given is special cable required due some frequency issue.
Point is both locations in the house will have same operational frequencies thus I see no reason that one set box works & the other doesn’t.
It looks like quality of new set box is of lower grade hence needs some enhancement on wiring to make it work???
If there would have been a need of a special type of cable for new generation of set top boxes to work it should have been communicated before accepting my order of new set top box.
This is clear cut case of exploiting the customer as I have already made capital investment of purchase of set top box.
Why should a customer pay for an upgrade on the cabling/wiring due to sub-standard set top box??
I even do not mind doing the re-wiring but the point is why at this stage??? Doesn’t YOU SCOD hold any responsibility. This is quite a serious offence & needs to be handled differently as I have been cheated.
