Location/place: delhi
Name of company/service: airtel
I’m was having Airtel post paid number 8800726660, which is in operation for last 2.5 Years.
On my mobile number, internet plan named “gprs prov @ 99 – corp” (offering free unlimited 2G data usage) was active which was integral
part of my postpaid mobile having rental plan name as “RA 10 CUG 199”.
On average, my monthly bill was ranging from Rs. 200 to 300 and have never exceeded beyond this limit.
In the month of Oct 2012, I got a SMS stating that the 4Months 3g plan has been activated on my mobile. On rasing the concern with
Airtel Customer care it was informed that your existing GPRS plan will be automatically reverted on completion of 4months 3g plan
period.
But on Feb 2013, Airtel slammed me with the bill amounting to Rs 8695 for the data use for 3g plan, which I had not asked anyone to
change from my base plan.
Please note that I had never asked anyone either by means of sms or call or email, to change my mobile internet plan to 4 months 3G
plan, i.e change of plan without my consent, for which a huge amount has been billed to me.
Moreover my credit limit was Rs 2000/- only and therefore Airtel is again doing fraud by billing me more then Rs 2000/-.
In case the so called 3G plan last attached by Airtel to my number was for limited time of 4 months then it should have been
automatically removed from my number on completion of the offer period time and “gprs prov @ 99 – corp” should have been activated.
Call facility on my no. has been deactivated and a hefty bill has been issued to me for data usage of approx 800MB.
More over the recovery agents from Airtel are calling again and again on different numbers to which I have talked to and are using
abusing language.
I request you to immediately stop the calls made by recovery agents and rollback the data charges, which have been charged on my
number.
In case the abusing calls are not stopped and the data charges are not reverted from Airtel by 1st Week of June 2013, then I will have
no choice other than to file a case in Consumer Forum and will be soon reporting this issue to TRAI.
Looking forward for timely and positive response.
Regards
Neeraj
