Too much delay to process request

Location/place: Nadiad – Gujarat

Name of company/service: Kotak Mahindra bank

I am having account at Kotak Mahindra Bank – Nadiad Main Branch. My CRN is 40256867.

I gave my acc closing req on 1st May 2013 and even after 13 days the request is not going to be processed as it requires approval from some internal department of the bank and I am going each second day for query regarding the status of my request. But always they are telling me wait for 2-3 days and other department from whom some approval is required they are doing this delay and mostly they do not receive the phone.

Please do something. My salary amount is there in the acc and as it was debit freeze I could not get any amount and they disposed my debit-card and cheque book on 1st May 2013 itself.

And now they are saying wait – day by day basis. Wasting my time and petrol by visiting the branch each second day.

    I made request to Nadiad branch on 1st May 2013 for closing the account. Mr. Viral cooperated me as much as he can do about the request. Also, most likely on each second day when I go to branch they tried to call to Bombay department officials and mailed them regarding the same.

    But as there was delay mostly from Bombay only this delay occurred. And after putting the matter on social media on internet in consumer forum – may be due followups from high level officials this issue of closing the account resolved.

    But finally the experience was not good for me. As it took 17 day as per today n in 1-2 days mostly I’ll get the pay order. So, ultimately around 20 days.

    They dispatched the pay order from Ahmedabad office mostly as per Nadiad branch people are telling me. Now, as per they are saying pay order dispatched on 17th May and even after 3 days I don’t have the pay order. As even in post there can be maximum 3 days to deliver a paper post from Ahmedabad to Nadiad. So, I don’t understand which kind of service this bank is using. They gave me FirstFlight courier AWB no – G29639469. And on website as of now no information is available for this tracking ID. For most of courier service it takes 24hrs to update consignment details online unlike this which takes more than 72hr as of now. It may take 96 hours even if there is no inquiry from Kotak bank related to my pay order and so on.
    So, this is really disgusting. After making 3 calls to Nadiad branch in 3 hour finally I got this AWB no which is not helpful for me as of now. Great service and customer experience so far.
