Dear Sir,
I bought 2 Hitachi Air Conditioners last year in September from the dealer in Jammu – Abrol Enterprises, Raghunath Bazar, Jammu. The Model Number and the Machine Serial Number are as below:
Air-Con 1: Model No. RAS321ISD
Machine Serial No.: SE121E12191
Air Con 2: Model No. RAS321ISD
Machine Serial No.: SE121E11815.
Below, here is what has happened till date. I sent this email to Hitachi on 15/04/2013
I have been calling Hitachi for the last 2 days and everytime I call, I get the same excuse that we cannot take complaints as your system is down. I have called 4 times today since morning and it is the same excuse. Now, as a customer, I’m trying to lodge a complaint about the air conditioners I bought last year (still under warranty), but, it clearly evident that I’m unable to do so and when I asked the customer care person for the email address, he clearly refused and told me I cannot give the email address.
The problem I’m facing with Air-conditioner No. 1 is that the compressor is not working well and it turns off automatically as soon as I turn it on. The air-con works for 5 mins and then it shuts down and restarts again. There is also a crackling voice heard from the air conditioner. The red light after shutting down blinks 4 times and once the air-con is unable to start it blinks for 9 seconds. I have tried contacting the service centre in Jammu, but, no one is coming to have a look at the air-cons. The service is useless. What is the point of spending so much when there is no after sales service?
The problem I’m facing with Air-conditioner 2 is that it works well for couple of hours and then it shuts down completely and then I have to restart it again.
I would like to sort out these problems with my air-conditioners ASAP, otherwise,
I just want to find the solution of this problem. Please either take your Air-conditioners away and install new ones for me or please refund my money and I can go and buy Air-conditioners from other company who hopefully would provide me a better service. After spending about 1 lac rupees on the air-cons, I never thought I had to go through this with these New Air conditioners.
I received an email from Hitachi on 17th April which is as below:

With Reference to the below mail, we understand that machine not work & compressor problem for your air conditioner for which you have contacted our helpline vide request number 13041700430,13041700424. We had a word with Area Service Manager to look into the matter and will resolve the concern at the earliest.
In the meantime, if you need any further assistance you can reach us at our Helpline number 0172-3532484 anytime or reply to this email.
Since, then no one has turned up to repair my Air conditioners and now Hitachi is saying they didn’t even received a complaint, but, I have for a written reply for the same.
I spoke to one of the heads in Chandigarh with regards to my complaints and now he is also rejecting my calls.
Basically, I want my Air conditioners to be replaced with the new ones or I should get my refund and they can take away their air conditioners and that is why I’m seeking help from Consumer Forum which I’m sure would be able to get me justice.
