Hi Team,
Am in a dilemma with a recent online transaction made via quikr.
Kindly go through the trail mail below, which would give you better clarity.
Inshort, the product – Nikon D7000 was advertised by – frank azad for around INR 30000, and was informed that these are imported in bulk hence are sold at a cheap discounted rate.
In the beginning was informed to make a part payment 50%, inorder to proceed with the shipment. Post that the tragic starts, where I was informed to make the remaining 50% so that they could ship the product by different means. The shipper has various agents in India (Mumbai), with 2-3 different account holders.
Post, which I was informed that the products have arrived in India, but is stuck in customs, as they are asking the shipper for International Business Certificate (IBC). On getting back with the shipper, got to know that his IBC is expired. Due to which the agent asks me to pay an additional INR 30000 so that the products are released and they would deliver the product and refund me for the other units as I sell them later.
I do not have much money, and photography is my hobby. I had paid INR 30000 (2 instalments – over online transfer) and then paid an additiona INR 20000 after borrowing the money from my colleague.
It seemed to be a fair transaction at first, with a whole lot of changes in the order and shipment and charges.
Since, this entire thing now seems fishy, am at a stage, where I have invested 30K, borrowed 20K (so am in debt) and over and above I do not have the product with me too.
Would need whatever support or guidance you’ll can provide. Let me know if any more detail needs to be provided.
Thanks & Regards,
– Mathew Fernandes.
