Excessive Billing for Wrong Services

Name of company/service: Tata Docomo Post Paid

Hello All, Tata Docomo website lists a My Family Plan type of service where you can get 3 to 5 numbers in one account for Rs.999 a month. I had requested for this plan online. Then several Docomo AGENTS contacted me and one of them came to my house with 5 SIM cards asked me to sign 5 applications and took advance and left. So far good. But them my troubles started after those 5 numbers got activated as 4 DIFFERENT MyFamily Plans with only 1 or 2 numbers in each. They started charging me Rs 999 x 4 + tax = over 5000 per month.

I called and asked them to correct this numerous times to no avail. I sent them multiple emails but nothing was done. I sent them in writing in Courier but no use. Finally on January 30th I sent email to cancel 3 of the 5 numbers and got confirmation numbers also. I paid them more than 5000 rupees so far for 3 months which is more than I would have owed for 1 account that I had requested.

However, Docomo call center calls me even today after I told them patiently for so many months what the problem was and had given them my cancellation numbers – They still want me to pay the rest of the incorrectly billed amount.

My lawyer told me to post here for help.

I was with Airtel before for 5 years and went back to Airtel. I pay huge amounts to Airtel when I use International Roaming, but I pay that with a smile because I used their excellent service and customer support.

But with Docomo, their internet connection is a mess – never usable – disconnects like every minute. Their customer service is clueless. They do not even try to solve your problem. Their Billing is even more clueless. Docomo doesn’t even care to put a company show room close enough to many people so we can go there and get the problem corrected. Despite that I stopped by their show room twice, but even they could not correct my plan into 1 MyFamilyPlan instead of 4 MyFamilyPlans. Which family wants 4 MyFamilyPlans – that’s absurd.

    Instead of resolving the issue you blindly resent the uncorrected bill to above email address.
