I recently had a horrifying experience with Citibank personal loan department when I started the loan process on 13th March 2013.
The agent who approached me (Pranaw; mobile number – +918459039370 & email [email protected]; ‘[email protected]): promised the below :
• The rate of interest will ne 14%
• The loan amount will be transferred via NEFT and I will receive the same by the afternoon of March 16th
• The processing fee will be waived off
• There will be no fore closure penalty/ timeline.
I signed the papers and provided all the relevant documents. Post which is where the torture began.
Mr. Pranaw was untraceable since the afternoon of 15th.
There was no one to assist from Citibank. The helpline does not connect with the customer executive till the time you have valid account number.
On the 16th night I received a mail from Citibank requesting my office address. All this was already provided on the form.
Monday, 18th , Mr Achal Pal, the so called Relationship manager approached me finally. The series false commitments continued…Here is what happened next:
1. The interest promised to me became 14.25% suddenly
2. The fore closure timeline was now told to be post 6 months installment.
3. The NEFT transfer was promised for 19th March
When I started following up Achal on 19th, I was shocked to hear another new story but when it was countered by valid proofs Mr Achal Pal promised a new date and it was 20th March.
I waited the whole day but no action at all. Mr. Pranaw was back in the scene on 20th but has no reply to his false commitments. He told me the reason of his absence to be his accident but post joining the office on 20th he still did not action on my file.
On the night of 20th March, to my utter shock, I received a mail from [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] communicating the below to me
Your disbursal draft for Rs.301000 favoring your bank account number 4XXXX46728 will reach you in 5 working days.
In the need of the hour TIME IS MONEY. The claim to provide personal loan in 48 hours is completely fraudulent here.
I had applied for loan for the wedding. I have waited and wasted all my leaves waiting for the loan amount of mere 3 Lacs one thousand as my own money is stuck somewhere and reaching me with delay.
Please register a formal complaint against Citibank for such harassment and inconvenience caused on account of false commitments under delivery of the promised services.
