I use to get calls from IHO at regular intervals of 1-2 weeks. Once I listened to them and got into the trap. The exective (Himanshu Desai) told me that with IHO card I can get 50% discount on any kind of hospitalisation expenses. He even said that I will get vouchers for pathology/radiology etc for Rs. 60,000. All this in Rs. 5,000 for 4 persons in family. He said that every hospital is registered with them. I asked him particularly about maternity/delivery cases whether the 50% discount will be applicable and he said yes all kinds of hospitalisation was included. I told him I need more time to decide, then he said this is a city wide campaign and it will close that day. I made the payment via credit card on phone but through IVR (he was asking me CVV no. but I didnt reveal).He immediately cut the call. Then the story changed when i got a verification call within 2 min which was to clear all the details of the benefits. The lady informed that there is 50% discount for IPD and upto 20% discount on OPD which I didnt understand. IPD includes only consultancy all other treatments are OPD which means only 20% discount on any hospitalisation expense. I immediately refused to process the application further to which she said just to try it once and i can cancel it later after receiving the kit within 14 days. That was my biggest mistake.
They took it as legally binding. The next day i called up on Delhi number to talk to Himanshu Desai but he was never available on the floor. I cancelled my application the by calling on customer care and rejected the plan on the welcome call. They tried to convince me a lot but i didnt agree. There i came to know that they have a panel of selected hospitals only where we get these benefits and to my surprise there were only 6-7 clinincs in Surat which were also useless as no one knows abt them.
I got a call for resolution from them abt my cancellatioin, I explained how there sales executive presented all the false claims about 50% discount on any treatment and every hospital being a part of IHO. Then she said that they will take action against there executive. She tried to convinvce for the other benefits but i refused as they were of no use to me. She finally said that my policy cannot be cancelled as i have agreed to the verification call after the sales call (which was after the payment) and they have a recording of the same. I inquired abt their 14 days refund policy and she told that it is not based on cstomer satisfaction but it depends only on any discrepancy between their actual benefits provided and what benefits they claimed before (as per verification call, not as per exective’c call.,…grrrrr). She agreed to refund Rs. 1500 since it was their executive’s mistake bt they will keep the balance amount as i cannnot cancel it now.She said the services will continue as they are but i cannot get full refund of Rs. 5000.
In short they have taken the money and will not refund back. I am not sure abt those 1500 refnd also as per others’ reviews. I will keep following up and will wait for the kit with that useless card which is limited to only few unknown clinics. Even appointment to a doctor will be given via that toll free number otherwise u dnt get the discount.
