Dear Sir/Madam,
This letter I am writing in reference to the overcharging and deliberate damage caused by your authorized service centre: Jai Shree Ram Auto Service Center, Sodala, Ajmer Road, Jaipur in my car- Alto.
INCIDENCE:
I met a small accident on Monday when in a jam a bus driver reversed his vehicle. This caused a dent in the bonnet. To get it repaired I took my vehicle to above service station where they inspected the damage and said that bonnet has to be changed. I agreed to that. Thereafter, about one hour later I got a call that Right Side Headlamp is also damaged and needs to be changed. I asked them why did they not convey it on inspection, for which they told me that sometimes damage can not be seen from outside and they found it when they opened the car further. I agreed to the change of that also. Two days later, yesterday, I received a call from them conveying that car was ready. I asked about the repairing and they told me that Left Headlamp as well as front bumper were also damaged and they changed that also. It created a doubt in my mind and I asked them to deliver my vehicle without repairing Left Headlamp and Bumper.
They delivered the vehicle with repaired bonnet, repaired right headlamp and damaged left headlamp (Photo 1).
It raises few questions:
• Why only plastic parts were damaged?
• Why did not find the damage on initial inspection?
• Did they make any deliberate damage?
• Are they overcharging from me and from Insurance company (Maruti Insurance Ltd)?
Evidences in favour:
• Only plastic parts are damaged as they put a major cost to the consumer and to the insurance company. And these service station earn a lot out of these parts.
• Damage were not seen because they were not there. Even right now the front bumper of my car (which they claimed as broken) is fixed and not causing any trouble.
• The damage caused in the left side Headlamp appears deliberate (Photo 1) based on following facts:
1. The headlamp is covered with the glass in front and reflector is not exposed to outside (Photo 1 and 2). Hence it is not possible to break the reflector without breaking the glass.
2. The edges of damage are smooth and bypass the line of maximum weakness where a break in reflector is expected (Photo 3).
3. Reflector is completely protected from back with a plastic cover and mounted on an iron frame (Photo 4) so it is also not possible to get it damaged without breaking plastic cover or the frame on which it is mounted. These items seems to be in factory position.
4. Reflector is protected with a black plastic cover all over and hence it cannot be damaged without any damage to outside cover (Photo 5). This cover is delivered intact to me and even if repaired, bill (Invoice No 5110 dated 14/10/2009) does not mention that amount.
• These facts favours that they overcharged from me/ from the insurance company. Besides this, this is a case of deliberate damage caused to my property (my car) and also the CHEATING.
I have also lodged a complaint with you yesterday (Ref No: 7693095863 dated 14/10/2009).
I request you kindly intervene in the matter, take appropriate action against the service station and get my overcharged amount (Right Headlamp) reversed and instruct them to change my left Headlamp within two days. Otherwise I have to take the legal action.
